My Hero Academia is a superhero anime not only popular in Japan, but the US as well. With the show current on its fourth season, the story of My Hero Academia only grows bigger and bigger. The series is  best known for its emotional moments and incredible development of characters.

However, one thing that sometimes goes unappreciated about the show is how funny it can be. The show does a good job of balancing intense and humorous moments with characters that can make fans cry or laugh out loud. And even there are several characters with different personalities, traits and flaws, many of them find a way to tickle the funny bone of fans everywhere. So here are ten of My Hero Academia's funniest characters that will make you burst out laughing.

10 Izuku Midoriya - "Eat this."

The main character of the story, Izuku Midoriya, may be known to not be very funny within his world, but that doesn't mean that fans of the show can't find him hilarious. From his excessive muttering to his geek out moments, Midoriya's fanboy personality always gets a joyful reaction out of people. This is why one of Midoriya's funniest moments comes from his fandom knowledge. When All Might asks Midoriya if he remembers what he told him about One for All. Midoriya puts on his All Might's impression, shocking fans, as he states what All Might told him to do with his hair.

9 Mei Hatsume - "I've forgotten all of your names."

When Midoriya and his friends head to the development studio to update their costume, they run into support course student, Mei Hatsume. After meeting the group for the second time, Hatsume quickly states that she doesn't remember any of their names. This pretty much sums up everything about Hatsume. To her, nothing else matters besides the young inventor's creations. So it is always funny to see Hatsume push her gadgets on to people as she uses them as guinea pigs. Her enthusiasm for inventing is both hilarious and exhausting.

8 Shoto Todoroki - "Whenever I'm involved… It feels like… People's hands get messed up… Or something... Is it a curse?"

Even characters that are more quiet and stoic can come off as funny at times. Shoto Todoroki may have a lot of family issues that he is dealing with throughout the show, but that doesn't mean he can't have his humorous moments... Even if he isn't trying to be. Todoroki has gotten into some intense situations with either Midoriya or Lida.

In these events, Midoriya and Lida get injured severely specifically their hands. Todoroki notices this and wonders if he is cursed to cause people's hands to get hurt. The funniest part about this is that even though Midoriya and Lida laugh at his silly question, Todoroki, himself, is all but joking.

7 Yuga Aoyama - "I can not stop twinkling!"

Normally a character that thinks too highly of themselves can come across as annoying, but that isn't the case for Yuga Aoyama. He may believe that he is the most dazzling and eye-catching person, but his classmates do help to keep him grounded and humble. So Aoyama thinking that everything about him shines brightly from his navel laser quirk to his sparkling costume when everyone else doesn't always feel humorous. It is because of this dynamic Aoyama stole the show when it came to the hero naming scene. Aoyama's name choice was a hilarious and shocking surprise. What's even funnier is that Midnight takes him seriously and slightly improves his hero's name.

6 Himiko Toga - "Can I stab him?"

Toga may be crazy, but that doesn't mean she can get a chuckle out of fans. Toga is the type of girl that just wants to do what she desires. So when you are a person that likes to see people bleed, it makes sense that one will always be asking to stab somebody. Even though Toga's actions are vicious what makes it comedic is how she can talk about stabbing like it is a normal hobby. When the League of Villains capture Katsuki Bakugo and try to figure out what to do with his wild, rebellious demeanor, Toga calmly asks with a smile on her face to stab him.

5 Mirio Togata - "I don't know but I've 'To-GATA' go see!"

It makes sense that the UA student closest to being like All Might would have similar silliness and humor to him. Mirio Togata quickly became a likable character to fans and only grew in popularity as the anime progressed.

Togata's jokes and overwhelming positivity may be a bit corny, but it is cheesy demeanor that makes charming. Togata's humor may not land among those around him, but that is why viewers find him funny. Many people can relate to telling stupid jokes that may not be hysterical, but can make a person smile.

4 All Might - "Getting away from them was a piece of cake. Why? Because I am All Migh--"

Speaking of successors, there is the Symbol of Peace that everyone is reaching for, All Might. The greatest superhero keeps society safe and happy with his strength and humor. All Might knows how to make people smile. However, most of All Might's funniest moments come from his transformation scenes. Even though it is sad to see All Might's power diminish, his transformation to his weak form is used as a comic relief many times. When All Might first explains his power to Midoriya, he unexpectedly transforms as he spits out blood in the funniest way possible.

3 Katsuki Bakugo - "Die!"

Die? How can telling someone to die be funny? Well, that is what makes Katsuki Bakugo's character so unique. A character that started off as an obnoxious bully slowly developed into a more likable rival for Midoriya. Bakugo once believed to become a villain by both fans and his classmates alike is a hothead working harder to be a hero than anyone else. So Bakugo tells people or objects to die as he throws them through the air is a hilarious moment because it isn't something that you expect someone trying to be a hero to say.

2 Twice - "Date me, Toga. You are the devil."

Anime Twice in My Hero Academia

Is an explanation even needed for this character? Twice, a member of the League of Villains, is an unstable character that has a lot of unpredictable dialogue. Twice is one of the funniest characters in the show because most things he says are contradictory. When Twice wears the mask, it is impossible to know how he feels because he says one thing and says something else with the opposite meaning immediately after. And when it comes to Twice there are many moments when things like this happen.

1 Tenya Lida - "I am extremely evil. Bwa ha ha ha."

Tenya Lida is definitely the most strict and disciplined student in class 1-A. He is a by-the-book type of guy and yet almost every scene with him in it is hysterical because of him. Lida's seriousness is so over the top and ridiculous that it is incredibly funny to hear. From his hand gestures to shouting directions, Lida's strict behavior is ironically wild and funny. So watching Lida take his classes so seriously and embodying villainy to become a better hero during an exercise is downright amusing.
