Non a horseradish fan, then I left it out. I left everything else exactly the same but I added an egg since i or two people said the burger barbarous apart while cooking. I too retrieve a central to property it together is keeping it cold until you lot are ready to cook it. It was really a good burger and moist likewise.
06/05/2007
I wish I could give this one 6 stars. Very well washed. For my own personal gustatory modality, I will add more horeradish next time. The flavor really melded together well. I had no problem in the burger staying together. Also, I fried them on top of the stove and they turned out fantastic.
02/04/2007
Update: Made these again concluding night and added 1/2 tsp of liquid fume, ii glugs of A1 and one T of the horseradish (DH said become alee). Even DH could non taste the horseradish, then I'll definately add the whole two T next time. Man were these proficient! Original: These are gonna be then great at the lake this summer! Was so excited to try the horseradish, was going to make half without for DH and half with for me, & I forgot to add information technology to mine. They were notwithstanding wonderful! Can't wait to make them again w/the horseradish.
02/10/2011
i am a professional person caterer past trade. i opted to cook some rice in beef stock and add the cooked rice to my mix. they were so flavorful, def one of my fav. cherry meat recipes!!!amazing burger!
07/30/2007
I made this for dinner tonight and my red meat loving husband said it was the all-time hamburger he's ever had! They were juicy with just a hint of bacon. I did add an egg, with splashes of wostershire, A1, and Liquid Smoke, with slice cheese on top. This is the ONLY hamburger recipe i'll use from now on!
04/xix/2011
Great burger! My hubby loves bacon and cheddar and so I had to requite these a endeavor. I cut the amount of horseradish in half because I was topping these with a horseradish sauce. I added one/two tsp. of liquid fume and had no problem with these holding together. I got three really dainty patties. These were delicious on toasted rolls - YUM!
09/22/2007
My hubby loves burgers, I'1000 not a huge fan, but we both loved these ones! I served this with additional extra sharp cheddar on top and didn't change anything in the recipe. The burgers were moist and very flavourful.
07/29/2004
I absolutely dear these hamburgers and we consume them all the time. They are so easy to make and they are bursting with flavour! I like to add together even more horseradish then is called for and I ever throw an extra handful of cheese in for adept measure!
07/17/2007
I'grand not ordinarily a hamburger person, but I actually liked these. They were very moist and tasty. I followed the recipe exactly, except that I cut down the horseradish a scrap. Next time, I'll apply the full amount: while it smells strong in the raw burgers, it wasn't at all overpowering. Also- left the meat (90/10) in the refrigerator until the final minute and the burgers stayed together nicely while grilling.
05/23/2004
Very proficient! I also cook them in a black iron skillet in the stove.
08/16/2012
Proficient burger. My annotate to all -When grilling, try putting the oil or cooking spray on the meat instead of the grill. A hot grill will immediately wink or burn off the oil. Cooking spray works actually well with chicken and if you've done much grilling it has a tendency to stick every time. js
10/27/2010
good gustatory modality, only needs more liquid. i cooked on the stove, medium high and they notwithstanding fell apart. expert parts though.
09/05/2007
D-lish!!! Omitted horseradish because dh doesn't like, simply we really liked the taste. I recollect the cheese really softens upwardly the burger. Volition be using again! (and once again!)
ten/23/2010
These burgers were awesome! I "grilled" them on the stove and they were super yummy. Can't imagine how much better they could be actually grilling them. The horseradish was the extra kicking and the bacon a nice surprise in every bite. To keep them from falling apart, I shaped the patties then put them on a plate in the fridge for about 45 minutes. Worked similar a charm. Hubby would requite these 6 stars if he could!
02/23/2011
Delicious! I also used an egg to help continue it together and instead of bacon bits I amped information technology up with real bacon... chopped it upwardly raw and mixed information technology in with the hamburger meat before making it into patties. Keep in mind this one is NOT for the dieters out there!!!
06/18/2012
I had 8 hungry souls (nearly of te family) over for Father's Twenty-four hours, but missing my daughter and her child. Of those viii - 3 decided no burgers and took hot dogs. I had made 17 burgers in all, and cooked 14, freezing 3 for subsequently. I used ii 1/4 pounds of footing beefiness with 1/2 pound of bulk ground pork sausage. I doubled (or slightly more) on the rest of the ingredients. I used a full packet of bacon, cutting it into 1/4" pieces. Once the salary was washed, and cooled in the refrigerator, I diced it and then the flavor was at that place, but non big pieces (that stick in between teeth). Grilled them for 6 minutes on one side, and nigh 4 - 5 minutes on the other side, until I got a 145 F or more reading on the meat thermometer. My 10 year old granddaughter was the first to gustatory modality them, and she could not terminate complimenting me on the taste. Even my 87 year old Mom tried them and loved them, although she is a hot dog person right now. The last alter I fabricated, was to utilize Dietz & Watson Cheddar cheese slices with pepper flakes in the cheese. The actress hot flash made these a favorite of my son and I. I volition make these again and over again, swapping with my Southwest Green Chili Burgers, every other time.
03/02/2007
I thought these burgers had great flavour, even with leaving out the horseradish since I didn't have any. Perfect on a bun spread with but a little mayonnaise & topped with lettuce.
03/17/2011
Absolutely honey this recipe! Nosotros arrive every time we make burgers on the grill and wouldn't change a thing. The horseradish gives information technology that extra kicking and who doesn't love bacon and cheese? Even the kids desire seconds!
12/21/2010
Fantastic burgers. The only changes I fabricated were to use paw-grated cheddar (instead of the pre-shredded kind) and to add together some Worcestershire sauce and a picayune chili powder. I pan-fried the patties in a little olive oil and topped them with sliced cheddar on spud rolls.
01/ten/2014
I came across this recipe a couple of days agone and take been dying to try information technology e'er since. Our frigid weather, however, has fabricated grilling hamburgers outdoors a dumb move – but where at that place's a will in that location'south a way! With a few minor adjustments to the recipe I was able to make this indoors with no muss and no fuss – as a meatloaf! I adjusted the recipe to two servings, to use 1/2 pound ground beefiness. I used fresh minced garlic rather than garlic pulverization and added 1/four cup of minced onion. To demark information technology I added ii tablespoons each of breadstuff crumbs and milk and 1/2 egg (lightly beat an egg and measure out out 2 tablespoons). I formed it into an itty-bitty loaf, topped it with some darn fine barbecue sauce, and baked information technology on a foil-lined cookie canvas at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. I let it set about 10 minutes before slicing it up. Each of the signature ingredients of cheddar cheese, horseradish and bacon (I used existent bacon, cooked and crumbled) were barely apparent but the combination of them united to create something unique and special. I'm glad I was determined to make this recipe and simply improvised to practice and then. This was a real treat, something to think when the conditions is more cooperative to make equally a grilled burger on a bun. When I practise I'll omit the binders – the milk, staff of life crumbs and egg, but I'll keep all else the same, including my additions of minced onion and barbecue sauce. It is the salary, cheddar and horseradish, however, that are this recipe'south delicious distinction.
09/29/2011
my husband really liked these hamburgers. I used real salary for the salary bits.
12/15/2010
I made a homemade sandwich coil recipe and wanted a good burger to eat with information technology. I made exactly as directed with one egg added to since some reviews said information technology would assist go along burger together. It made the all-time homemade hamburger I have always had. By leaps and premises better than any other I have made.
05/21/2013
Gobbled upwardly at our bbq
11/09/2010
All I can say is YUMMY! I did add an egg, with about a tablespoon each of worchestershire sauce and A1. I did not add any horseradish. Super juicy and flavorful! Will make again and again. Thanks Lisasnow!
12/31/2011
Really tasty! I didn't add horseradish but left everything else the same. Will definitely use this recipe again and again.
05/30/2011
Very Good!!! I omitted the horseradish and kept everything else the same. I had no problem with the burgers holding together. Hubby loved them! I will definitely brand them again! Thanks!
12/10/2010
Awesome hamburgers!! These are the best hamburgers I've ever fabricated and even my vi twelvemonth old who turns his nose upwardly at ground beef loved it! This recipe is a keeper! We will be making it again.
03/nineteen/2011
Perfect, my guests raved about them!
06/12/2008
I made these almost exactly as written. I used small cubed pepper jack instead of grated cheddar and used 5 pieces of crumbled freshly cooked bacon in leiu or salary bits. Next fourth dimension I will OMIT the 1/2 teaspoon of salt as the salary and cheese have plenty salt to season the burger adequately. The horseradish gave the burger a fabulous zest but you cannot sense of taste that tell tale horseradish gustation. My husband hates horseradish equally a condiment but could not tell what gave the burgers that neat zestyness so go ahead and apply the total two tablespoons! I mixed the cheese, horseradish, bacon and spices all together with a wooden spoon. I then added the ground beef, four% fat, and mixed until very well combined. Since some complained of the burgers falling apart I put the burger in a ziplock and put it in the freezer for 20 minutes, and then made patties and got them on the drill immediately. I had no outcome with them falling apart what and then ever. This is a very tasty recipe that I will certainly utilise again.
01/27/2009
I don't know why these work, simply they do! My guests commented on the juiciness of the burgers and several were amazed they contained bacon bits, which they hate. I recommend using ground chuck vs. ground beef, since the cheddar provides plenty of juice. Likewise cuts down on grill flare-ups. I also used a cherry-red & black pepper mix for but a little actress "kick" and a proficient season common salt. I cut the buns, buttered both sides and grilled them on a griddle just before adding the burger. A very memorable burger!!
07/01/2010
These are very tasty. Also good when leftovers are used in dishes calling for cooked ground beef like tacos, burritos or casseroles. Note to self- add i/2 teaspoon liquid smoke and serve with a slice of cheddar on top and horsey sauce on the side.
08/16/2012
Bully tasting hamburgers. the only thing I did unlike was to add half loving cup of minced onion.
01/06/2012
Very skilful taste, only equally other reviewers accept noted, they didn't hold together very well. I'll accept to try them with an egg next fourth dimension. We don't grill in Wisconsin in January, then nosotros cooked these in our All-Clad ridged skillet; pre-heated well, then iv minutes on each side. Will definitely be making these again! Thanks for the recipe!
06/23/2012
This recipe is at present the only grilled hamburger recipe I will make! BonBon
02/01/2011
Use thin, crisp bacon or bacon $.25
ten/26/2011
These were really good! Adjacent fourth dimension I will double the recipe.
03/26/2011
And so easy! Then yummy! So many ways to make it your ain!!! AWESOME!
10/22/2011
The others that I fixed this for said it was dandy tasting for them. I guess it was only me that idea it would be spicer. But thanks for the recipe, at to the lowest degree I didn't starve to expiry.
09/xv/2008
VERY Adept!! Very moist and flavorful. I mixed in onion, bell pepeer, bacon, mushroom, shredded mozzarella and garlic into the patties and and then grilled them on the george foreman. I did also follow other readers reviews and mix in one egg with the meat to hold information technology together. DELICIOUS!!! Using 1.5 pounds of ground beef plus all the veggies concluded up giving me half-dozen skilful size burgers. Served on buttered & toasted buns! YUM!
08/xvi/2012
Great recipe! Always try near 1/4 lb ground sausage (your choice ) to i lb hb instead of bacon? Yummy also!
02/28/2011
Husband loved these! I used xc/ten beef and I recall that next time I will use 80/20.
01/29/2015
I liked these burgers. They are actually different. I don't even know how to describe the taste? Its sort of like a burger with a smokey cheese on tiptop. I couldn't actually taste the bacon or horseradish distinctly. I used sharp cheddar and made sure to buy the real bacon bits. I used lean beef, lined a rimmed baking canvas with foil, and broiled them on loftier after spraying with a trivial oil. After flipping, they started to splatter a little as oil from the salary bits and cheese started to release. Peradventure heating the bacon $.25 briefly and drying off backlog oil or changing the foil when flipping would have possibly helped with that. If broiling or using the bbq just exist careful. I don't ordinarily take that issue, broiling burgers, always buying the leaner beef. I served them on wheat buns with regular condiments, lettuce, tomato, and ruby onion. I would try these if desiring a burger with a dissimilar taste. I fabricated slightly smaller burgers and got 8 at 142 calories each or about 350 calories with a wheat bun and condiments. Notation: Even though these dont sense of taste salty, the bacon, cheese, and added salt, left me awfully thirsty. Information technology also really smoked upwardly my oven the next time I used it. I think I volition salve something like this for the grill.
09/10/2011
I don't have horseradish, and so I didn't use that. Kids and hubby loved these, as I idea they would, knowing how much they all love their bacon. I am going to have to take their word for it that these were good, every bit I didn't have any. This is a nice, simple manner to jazz up some hamburgers.
12/22/2006
Not to my sense of taste.
07/18/2011
Fabricated these for my 2 kids, my sister and her son and information technology was a hitting. My son had two burgers and my nephew ate all of his without whatever complaints. Everyone loved them. Will be making again. Thanks for the recipe.
04/ten/2009
I made these final night for dinner while grandkids are visiting through Easter. Followed the recipe except for "garlic" and added 2 teaspoons of plain ole mustard. Went to get my camera to snap a photograph of burgers which was holding a place of honor amongst all the condiments, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, onions and when I finally found the camera and got dorsum, 4 of the burgers were already on a bun and being seriously worked on by folks who you'd remember had never had a burger! Next fourth dimension... and there will be a next time! Thanks for sharing.
04/23/2011
Best burgers ever! Definitely employ the horseradish, you lot really can't taste it in the burgers but it adds unbelievable season! I cooked these on the grill with the coals banked and the lid on, but vents fully open. five minutes per side and they were perfect! Melted cheese on them immediately later. I served them on irish potato rolls with an avocado/mayonnaise mix, tomato and onions. My beau went insane!
07/13/2014
I brand a very like recipe, except, I fry some chopped onion with the bacon and utilize horseradish cheddar cheese. I besides FREEZE the cheese before I add it to the burger, takes a piddling longer for the cheese to melt....which makes information technology a chip less messy.
05/28/2012
Who doesn't beloved bacon and cheese? Peculiarly on a hamburger. I idea this would be slap-up cooked over an open fire on our Memorial Day weekend campout. I used lefover bacon from breakfast that I cut into small pieces with scissors and I inceased the garlic powder to i teaspoon, added 1 teaspoon onion powder and used seasoning salt. I also used medium cheddar cheese. Unfortunately I didn't have any horseradish sauce (not a huge fan but I tin can eat it) and that is probably what would have made this recipe nifty. I was disappointed that the bacon and cheese flavors didn't shine equally much as I thought they were going to. If I make again I will either add the horseradish sauce or mayhap a splash or two of Worcestershire sauce and I think I would increase the bacon and meridian the burger with the cheese instead.
05/06/2011
Anybody loved these burgers! They were very good!
10/13/2009
I left the bacon bits out but added existent grilled salary as a topping to the burger. Usually I love horseradish merely I merely didn't think it tasted right in a burger.
05/16/2012
These burgers were great! Very flavorful and just a little spicy. They were easy to mix upwards and actually stayed together when grilled. Since these already had lots of flavour at that place was no demand to pile on the toppings - I simply used mustard and a lilliputian bit of lettuce. I will definitely be making these again. Cheers for sharing the recipe!
04/xiii/2008
I HATE hamburgers, but I had i of these and actually enjoyed it! Needless to say, kids and DH loved them. I followed the recipe, other than adding salt. Thanks for the great mail service!
03/26/2010
This recipe is fantastic just equally information technology is. This is a real winner I did not change a thing!!!!!
05/xiv/2011
It was delicious and my husband loved them.
09/22/2011
Yummy but greasy. Lots of grill flair ups. I felt very full eating 1/4 pound burger. I was nervous almost the horseradish, just it made information technology flavorful and moist.
09/04/2008
This makes a VERY tasty and moist burger. Lots of room to personalize this recipe as well without ruining the final product. Saving this i to my recipe box.
06/28/2011
I made a few modifications, because I didn't take the horseradish, and so I put A-1 equally another reviewer suggested. I would like to try it as the original recipe writes, but wanted to review it, every bit the base for the recipe is STELLAR! It was a hit for the whole family!
01/07/2012
This was not a hitting with the family. My hubby said he didn't like the garlic gustatory modality with the horseradish. I thought they were ok, only not fabulous.
06/23/2007
My husband raved over these. He said it was the best burger he'southward always had! WOW! Volition make again!!!
12/xxx/2010
Pretty proficient
07/04/2011
Best burgers I've fabricated yet. I made them equally written except instead of bacon bits (didn't have whatever) added 2 slices of finely chopped bacon (raw) and omitted table salt. Served them to guests and they raved. Season was outstanding. This will be my standby recipe from now on.
08/30/2008
Even without the horseradish, these were juicy and delicious, and held together well on the grill. Side by side time, I'll add chopped onion, as I call up they'd grill well with the cheese and bacon bits.
11/xiv/2007
I added fresh minced garlic - delicious!
01/24/2007
Many compliments. I fried up some peppered bacon and used that. Didn't grill them as it is very cold outside, just I bet they are more fantastic grilled. Will about likely make again.
10/17/2011
Made it for the first fourth dimension concluding weekend for a large visitor, and received a lot of compliments. Very moist and succulent!
06/26/2009
Best burger I have ever tasted. Anybody is request for me to make more.....and I have been!
08/01/2005
The other reviewers were correct...piece of cake and delicious. We don't consume red meat very ofttimes simply with out-of-town company coming over for a barbecue, I wanted to make something "kid" friendly but employ different ingredients than the traditional "egg" and "breadcrumbs." These burgers were easy to prepare and received rave reviews.
10/15/2007
We omitted the horseradish, and used 1/2 jar of real salary bits. Everything else I measured as the recipe says. The next fourth dimension we brand these I will cut the garlic pulverization to ane/iv tsp, and I may cut back on the salt too. We didn't care for the heavy garlic flavour in our hamburgers.
06/02/2011
I doubled the recipe but didn't double the horseradish because my husband doesn't really care for information technology. Fifty-fifty he said it could use maybe a bit more added next fourth dimension. These are really good!!! I will exist making them again.
11/19/2010
Excellent. I would definitely make this over again. I made information technology exactly as written.
09/09/2006
These were great. For all you lazies out at that place: I had no bacon bits, then I put raw bacon through the nutrient processor until chopped very fine and added it raw to the burger meat and other ingredients. They turned out fine and the salary flavor was quite good.
06/22/2009
Made these burgers for fathers twenty-four hours. They were a hit. I left out the horseradish and liquid smoke.
06/01/2012
I made these the other night, and they are absolutely awesome. I fabricated information technology as is, but only had a combo cheese with cheddar, jack, cream cheese shredded together. Yummy I also used my own homade buns, which complimented these burgers well.
07/06/2011
this is really a keen hamburger I just hope the lady that said information technology was too salty realizes she mentioned tablespoon and not teaspoon as the reciepe called for if she dislocated them it would nearly certainly be to salty;to her I say try information technology again it is great and we all make mistakes in cooking otherwise there would exist no new recipes for us to enjoy
12/26/2010
Hubby enjoyed these very much (I don't eat meat). Next time I will add the egg many reviewers recommended. It did stay together, but just barely.
07/12/2014
Absolutely Delicious!!!! New top burger recipe :) I added a nuance of worcestershire, extra shredded cheese, included the fatty rendered from the bacon and topped with a piece of pepperjack cheese... on an onion bun... had to use a fork- that was fine with me!!!! Exist sure non to overcook.... it was SOOOOOOO moist!
03/27/2010
I dislike it when people change things and and then review information technology simply I'm going to practice information technology anyway. :) This is a very juicy burger. I fabricated a few changes based on what I had in the house...I was missing horseradish so I used a two leftover Arby's Horsey Sauce packets, I was missing bacon $.25 and then I fried up some regular bacon and crumbled information technology. I added a few things based on taste...an actress ane/2 cup of cheese, about one/4 bread crumbs, i egg yolk and a few dashes of Worcheshire (sp).
eleven/thirteen/2011
These were very good. Didn't change annihilation.
10/25/2009
the picky boyfriend really likes theses. Thanks!!!
06/17/2008
This was absolutely delicious! I added a one/ii tsp. worchestire sauce, a tsp of seasoning common salt, and a Tbsp. cold water because after adding the salary and cheese, the texture of the meat felt a little dry. Served on onion rolls with BBQ sauce. Great flavor!
07/08/2011
Fabulous burger! I put the burgers on my home fabricated hamburger buns (which are strong plenty to comprise a juicy burger similar this one). It takes a little more prep but the extra time is well worth the endeavor. I followed the recipe exactly including the horseradish and I wouldn't modify a thing. The burger didn't even need condiments.
07/x/2005
Excellent! I added a trivial more cheese than the recipe chosen for too as a splash of Worcestershire (made it a picayune juicier since I used leaner meat).
09/07/2014
I doubled everything in the recipe except the horseradish so I could make 8 patties. I probably used more than 2 lbs of beef since I do take enough extra to make at least 2 more patties. This was and so delicious. I cooked mine on the stove. My eleven year old gave it thumbs up so information technology's child tested and approved lol.
01/31/2009
Every single bite was surprisingly delicious. Used ground venison instead of beef; otherwise, didn't modify a thing. This is now our favorite hamburger recipe.
01/29/2012
I didn't accept horseradish but nevertheless pretty proficient, stayed together well and anything on the bbq is good!
02/01/2007
Very good. I did not take enough bacon, so the bacon flavor was not every bit pronounced as it would take been had I had what the recipe called for. I can't expect to endeavour these with the proper corporeality of bacon $.25. I used footing turkey for a lower-fatty spin. If you utilize ground turkey or lower fat footing beef, be prepared to add together a petty water to the skillet to prevent the meat from burning. If yous are looking for a different, yet tasty twist on the plain characterization burger, this is recipe is a nifty choice.
01/25/2009
Great recipe! My friends always love it when I brand these. If you have any trouble with them falling apart, try leaving out the bacon bits. They stopped falling autonomously for me. I think they are meliorate without the bacon bits anyway. This gives you lot a chance to use real sliced bacon if you desire to. Also, I left out the shredded cheese. I plant that I couldn't taste information technology anyway. I love cheeseburgers, so I simply added a slice of cheese after grilling the burgers.
07/21/2014
I've made this a couple of times, and information technology tastes amazing and and then juicy and flavourful. I julienne the salary and so cook it. I love having the cheese cooked right into the burger. I take to reduce the horseradish a bit because my son doesn't like it to exist too stiff. Oh, and final time I didn't have any regular horseradish, simply I DID accept Onion Blossom Horseradish sauce and it was INCREDIBLE.
06/02/2011
OK...I inverse this up by using ground turkey but the flavour was still then great that the rating will still exist high. I didn't measure anything...just eyeballed it. I had about one.5 lbs of ground turkey and knowing that it tin be a flake bland, I added extra of each spice. I fabricated 6 patties out of it. I grilled them on my George Foreman and they turned out Nifty!! Cheers and so much...
05/26/2014
Great burger! I left the horseradish out because I'grand not a fan.
05/20/2012
These are superb! I didn't have the horseradish, only they had plenty of great flavour without it. Definitely will be enjoying these over the summer.
07/08/2011
Pretty good!
03/17/2008
I wanted to find a recipe where you stuff the meat patty with cheese, only this 1 topped that program! I didn't have any salary or horseradish, but I used some Worchestire sauce and garlic powder, as well every bit the cheese. I did put the mix in the freezer for about 15 minutes earlier forming the patties and this helped. I cooked the burgers in a pan and they came out nicely enough every bit information technology was as well cold to get exterior and grill. Our whole family loved this and we volition make it again, especially when I can grill 'em exterior!
08/11/2011
Crawly burgers.
09/x/2006
These were great!! My swain loves salary cheeseburgers, so I actually made them for him, but anybody loved them!!! Very like shooting fish in a barrel and tasty. (I did leave out the horseradish, equally we're non large fans...)
05/29/2012
Love this recipe. The burgers were moist and very flavorful!!!!
08/19/2006
This was really practiced and easy to make with but what i had on mitt after we moved and didn't have whatever groceries yet.
ten/13/2010
my whole family says that I brand the best burgers in the globe when I make these. They taste cracking bbqed or fried. I am nor a horseradish fan so I get out that out and since nosotros are bacon lovers I use existent bacon and add a petty extra in the mix. My husband has been known to swallow them common cold the next day too.
